Xinotongke (Tianjin) Biotechnology Co., Ltd. has developed an innovative rapid food safety testing technology that drastically shortens the traditional 72-hour workflow, setting a new industry benchmark with its remarkable "Wuqing Speed."
Step into the Sinotone Science Laboratory, located in the Wuqing Beijing-Tianjin Industrial New City, where real-time PCR (polymerase chain reaction) instruments operate at peak efficiency. Chief Scientist and Chinese Academy of Sciences Ph.D. Yu Sili closely analyzes data fluctuations; every number displayed on the screen determines the safety of dairy products soon to hit the market.
"Traditional methods for detecting pathogenic microorganisms in food take 3 days, but many fresh foods can't wait," said Yu Sili. "Our approach uses a multiplex fluorescent PCR system combined with self-developed high-efficiency nucleic acid extraction reagents to rapidly and accurately identify more than ten types of pathogens, including Salmonella." This innovative technology has reduced testing time by 75% and improved accuracy to 99.5%, serving over 90% of China's large-scale dairy companies.
As the coordinated development of the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region deepens and gains momentum, in 2023 9, Xinuotong relocated part of its operations from Yizhuang, Beijing, to Wuqing Jing-Jin Industrial New City. In just over a year, the company expanded rapidly from a 500 sqm startup space to a 3600 sqm modern testing facility, achieving an impressive growth "acceleration."
"In less than a week, the government helped us secure a new facility site and guided us through policies and procedures. Their patient, personalized, professional, and efficient service gave us the confidence to put down roots in Wuqing," said Wang Jisheng, Deputy General Manager of the company. Under the comprehensive "Expert + Butler" support model provided by Wuqing District, the company expanded its production capacity within just six months, completing technology transfer and capacity upgrades. In the past year alone, it launched over 20 new products. Today, the company's R&D center, marketing center, production center, and international trade center are all based in Wuqing, establishing it as a key base for food safety testing technology development and commercialization in North China.
Xinotong Technology centers on food safety testing, building seven R&D and service innovation platforms. These cover antigen-antibody technology, immunological rapid testing, molecular biology rapid testing, and microbiology rapid testing. The company offers a diverse product line including nutritional fortifier test kits, colloidal gold rapid test kits, fluorescence quantitative PCR kits, and ELISA reagents. These solutions are widely used to detect veterinary drug residues, pesticide residues, mycotoxins, illegal additives, heavy metals, and pathogenic microorganisms. With outstanding innovation capabilities, Xinotong Technology has been awarded multiple invention patents.
"We are currently building a new laboratory with a planned floor area of approximately 1200 square meters, scheduled to commence operations this 10. This facility aims to establish a professional third-party testing and inspection center, focusing on quality control across the entire agricultural and sideline products supply chain," said Wang Jisheng. Upon completion, the laboratory will implement a comprehensive testing service system, including the development of standardized testing protocols, the deployment of digital data management systems, and the research and application of intelligent traceability platforms. Leveraging the food manufacturing and agricultural production sectors in Wuqing District, we will build a food quality traceability system to enable end-to-end quality control—from field cultivation to consumer consumption, and from raw material procurement to finished product shipment—supporting quality upgrades and overall efficiency improvements for agricultural products in both Wuqing and our city.
